Our Services at CCG Land Management:

CCG Land Management is a division of The Cavalry Construction Group Ltd (2001).

We tackle the tough jobs and challenges faced by private, recreational and commercial property owners: Blackberry and brush control, clearing and expanding useable space on your property, making the land safe and dry for all uses.

Vegetation Management - blackberry, brush & tree clearing, forestry mulching, overgrown field mowing.

Equestrian properties - roads, trails, riding rings, fences

Agrotourism - parking and access road installations and maintenance, re-grading and pothole repairs

What you can expect

We provide clear communication and strive for consistent, first-rate results for all clients, all projects, and in all scopes of work we undertake.

From a detailed written scope of work to selecting the level of finish you expect, each proposal we write includes a clear breakdown of the work ahead and the budget.

Low ground disturbance: Lightweight tracked machines, brush cutting and forestry mulching leaves the ground largely intact. The mulch reduces soil erosion, decomposes quickly, and improves soil health, without the need to burn or dispose of the waste product.

Clear views and tidy fields with no brush and bramble in sight.

Our History

Our 25 year company history includes selective skid steer land clearing and grading for properties of all sizes, then completing top level hard landscapes, water features, greenspaces, private parklike estates, and general construction for both residential and commercial projects.

We know that good preparation will

result in a better finished product.

Excavator and skid steer removal and clearing with less mud and mess.

Our Team

Our core team has over 100 combined years of hands-on  experience in excavation, grading and landscape construction and we're always learning and improving. You'll have experienced operators on site with an eye for detail and a desire for the work to progress efficiently.

the big picture

We want your investment in us to add value to your land. We clear unwanted growth, trees and vegetation, making your land accessible and suitable for construction, farming, agriculture or other purposes, or just get your land looking its best for peace of mind and improved property value.

And, we can do a lot more from there.

Planning and Preparation

We clear sight lines for surveys and fencing, private roads and building sites to create better access for you and your team before you start laying things out. A clear and clean worksite is a safer worksite. And our process finishes the work with less ground disturbance.

See the land before you start laying out your next project.

Safety

Safety matters for you, for us, and for the future of your land. - Open up useable, evenly graded ground for yourself and your family, horses and livestock, surveyors and workers.

- Clear an open perimeter around your home and outbuildings for visibility and hazard reduction.

- Add fire breaks and remove fire hazards like dead, dry, flammable organic materials to significantly reduce your risk of fire damage.

Everything we do is completed with both landowner and operator safety in mind. We have strict rules for anyone approaching or around the equipment we use to minimize the possibility of an accident.

Mulching and brush cutting versus excavation and disposal

After years of the traditional 'rip and remove' brush clearing for our projects, we and our clients got tired. Tired of the dirt, the mud, and the mess. Tired of ever increasing disposal costs. Tired of slash piles, burn permits, smoke and ash.

So, we looked into a better way, and we found it.

Our equipment can reduce all types of brush and trees (10-12 inch diameter and larger) into easily biodegradable mulch. Everything is left on site. One clean and less disruptive process. No disposal. No slash piles to deal with. No smoke and ash.

And the best part? ITS MORE COST EFFECTIVE and immediately ready for whatever you want to do next.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find an answer to your question, please call us at 778-888-8439, or reach us at CCG@landmanagement.ca

We transform properties - we mulch blackberry, remove weed trees and any unwanted vegetation, clear fence lines and utility corridors, reduce fire risks, reduce hidden hazards, eliminate cover for unwanted pests and guests, remove trash and 'lost and forgotten' possessions, etc.

This can improve your views and sight lines, property aesthetics, and enable you to get more use out of your available space.  We also build, restore and maintain your access roads, create walking paths through dense brush, reduce mosquito breeding grounds, and open up space for your surveyors, campers, next new outbuilding. And this is just a start.

Yes, we are licensed contractors with above average coverage for our industry. We pay WCB, EI and offer our staff a solid medical/dental plan as well.

Heavy winter storms and intense summer heat and fires are becoming NORMAL!! And that's not comforting. We can deal with both concerns at once. We clear away hazardous brush and reduce combustible materials, regrade open areas and stabilize loose slopes, install swales, ditches, culverts and detention ponds to catch and control the increasingly intense rains we receive. And you get some extra peace of mind.

We use mini-excavators with flail mowers and mulchers, and compact track loaders with large brush cutting field mowers and forestry mulchers to best service the terrain and type of growth we're dealing with. We have the attachments used for our construction projects, and we also have our own roll-off disposal bins for quick service.

When we take on the biggest of projects, we bring in larger equipment, including dozers and heavy excavators.

Unfortunately, there is no permanent solution. However, we can make it much more difficult for the plants to grow. Mulching brush and organics in place leaves a layer of material that can slow new growth. Even strong herbicides aren't a perfect solution. Once the mechanical removal is complete, regular maintenance is required to keep new growth from taking over once again. And Yes, we can come back every couple of years to help.

You might not believe what we find (or maybe you might? How about the front half of a fishing boat? Yup. We did). You can have us load and remove it, or we can pile it up for you to dispose of. One of the benefits of having our own bin trucks is timely disposal.

Yes we can. For several years we ran a select demolition division of our business. We still offer that service but in limited capacity. Outbuildings, concrete slabs, oil tanks, and anything else you might find can all be removed and correctly disposed of.

Yes. But there are the right ways to fill your property, and the wrong ways. The right way involves permits, soil testing at origin, and other measures. It takes time to set up but is well worth the security it offers. And we can often get good material at no cost to you.

You may find 'free fill, minimum 50 loads' ads on Facebook. These are not as they appear. Illegal dumping, and especially of undeclared contaminated fill, comes with severe fines and the requirement for the property owner to remove and correctly dispose of these materials at their own expense. We have direct knowledge of these costs being born by the property owners. The worst case we heard of in recent years involved a new client who hired us to remediate the damage from a very unscrupulous excavation company. It cost the homeowner heavy six figures. Today they enjoy 3 acres of park like finished landscapes, walking trails, a small lake and other features that all look incredible.

We understand sometimes a larger project needs to be done in phases. We break down most proposals into manageable bites. Like a menu. Where it makes sense, you can choose the work you want to prioritize, and plan the rest for another time.

The best answer we can give is to say we can price what we can quantify, and using our decades of experience, we can give you a very reasonable estimated cost for the rest.
